Application Process

Requirements for a Brief Summary

The following elements are to be included in a brief summary:

  1. Study title
  2. Name and contact information of principal investigator
  3. Team members
  4. Two page summary of research proposal (Times New Roman, 12 pt, single-spacing with two centimetre margins)
  5. Overall budget sought
  6. Curriculum Vitae of principal investigator (no more than four pages, with relevant publications highlighted).  Include journal impact factor

It is recommended that a brief summary or letter of intent be submitted initially for FSHD Scientific Advisory Committee review by Deadline 1.  Once the Committee advises interest in the Summary in writing, a full proposal will be requested.  Submission of a Brief Summary or full proposal does not imply or guarantee approval.  All proposals will be reviewed based on their individual research merit.

 

Important Dates

The FSHD Scientific Committee will review submissions in full once per annum, and will award funding once per year in the last quarter.

 

Summary Submission Review Deadline 1:  March 1st of each year

Full Submission Review Deadline 2 for annual decision on funding:  August 31st of each year

 

Note:  By submitting before March 1st of each year a summary proposal, there is an opportunity for feedback from the Scientific Advisory Committee before submission of a full proposal.
